WATER A NATURAL RESOURCES
Nearly three fourths of Earth's surface is covered with water water is found in ponds rivers lakes and oceans under the ground it is present in empty spaces between rocks large quantities of water like frozen in glaciers and polar ice caps what is also present in air in the form of water vapour water is essential for life a person can live without food for several weeks but without water he cannot leave for more than a few days all plants and animals have large amount of water in their bodies several life processes in humans and animals such as digestion of food absorption of nutrients by the body the body distribution of nutrients to various parts of the body or getting rid of body weighs need water about two third of human body consists of water we take in water through food and drink and lose it in the form of urine sweat or exhaled air water helps us to control our body temperature in hot weather we drink a lot of water this maintains our body temperature within reasonable limits what are that evaporates from the surface of our body in the form of sweat take away heat from the body and the school set in plants water is essential for germination of seed and their growth it also helps to transport nutrients from the soil and the food from the leaves to different parts of the plants we already know about the process of photosynthesis where plants used water along with carbon dioxide from the air to make food in the presence of Sunlight beside being essential for life water .....
Water is a renewable natural resource however we still hear about the shortage of water at many places the United Nation has recommended that a minimum of 15 litres of water should be available to eat per day for drinking washing cooking and cleaning however millions of people in a country and several other countries of the world do not even get this minimum amount they have to face great hardships in getting whatever little what are the cat's it is estimated that in a few years from now more than one third of people in the world could face water scarcity we face shortage of water mainly because water is not evenly disturb by the nature on the earth some places such as Northeast India get so much water that the water gets useless other such as the Thar Desert in Rajasthan me not get trained for years and suffer from drought also much from the water available to us is not in a usable form 97.4% of available water is in oceans and seas which cannot be directly used by us because of its high salt content about 2% water is frozen in glaciers and is in the polar ice caps through this is fresh water it is also not available to us the remaining only 0.6 % is available to work as fresh water in the liquid form even out of these point 0.59% is present as groundwater and only 0.01% is available as freshwater on the surface of Earth if we consider a bucket of water to be the total amount of water available on the earth then the amount of freshwater available on the surface of the earth .....
The purpose of water conservation is to increase the amount of clean water available sum of the methods for conserving water are using less water and avoiding wastage at home for example turning off the taps while brushing teeth mopping the floor instead of washing it using water in a bucket to watch cars instead of using a pipe Pita management of water by the Civic authorities example preventing leakage from pipe is doing better method of education such as drip irrigation in which water is supplied to the roots of plants drop by drop instead of feeling the entire filled with water recycling of water in factories and using it several times before it is disposed off soil conservation methods such as planting trees also increase the supply of groundwater greetings sewage and factory waste before disposing them off so that water sources are not polluted using biodegradable fertilizers and pesticides so that groundwater is not contaminated Disney in India structures called _baolis_ were used for storing rain water the water collected during monsoon was used during non monsoon month it was used to recharge groundwater this method has been very successful wherever it has been tried and has resulted in raising the groundwater level in that area there is the most to revive this practice .....
